The Akron Summit is a gathering of concerned citizens for the purpose of listening to, deliberating on, and developing strategies for the development and maintenance of the Akron community. The Summit format is four workshops (2 on Friday, 1 on Saturday and Sunday) will consist of: (1) Keynote address - to set the milieu and (2) Break out groups - to read, deliberate, and develop strategies for implementing the Akron Commission on Civil Disorder Report (1969) Recommendations. The overarching goal of The Summit is to identify strategies for growth and development (The Agenda). The Agenda will serve as a central set of strategies to organize and hold elected officials, community leaders, organizations, and individuals accountable. On Saturday afternoon, we will also recognize effective leadership and service to the community, and inspire participants commitment to The Agenda by joining an organization to work out completion. Following the workshop, a fair of invited community organizations whose missions and visions align with The Agenda will be available for participants to commit their time and resources.

Thank you to all who participated and help support The Akron Summit.

We are currently processing the information, recommendations, and information collected. We will soon post updates, materials, and strategies. A luta continua (the struggle continues)!!
